National Treasure (PG)

This movie proves that once in a long while a great production with an original plot comes along to outshine even the best of epics.

In National Treasure we follow Nicolas Cage outwit and try to out maneuver hunky Sean Bean for the next clue in a treasure hunt.

The latest clue arrives to lead them to 'The Declaration of Independence' and to find the hidden clue they must steal it.  Nicolas, proud American, says no way.  While Sean, proud Brit and greedy man, says I'm stealing it with or without you.

We continue the journey with a woman joining the intrigue and clue hunting.

You learn that the background story of the Knights Templar, the Freemasons and how the forefathers have been connected through the entire journey.

Maybe because it was filmed mostly outside or because there is no demanding love story tossed in, this movie kept me interested from start to finish.  I hoped the story was real or that I could be part of some adventure like these guys were on.

There are extras that you can fiddle with, but the movie should be in your collection for it's okay for children to watch and adult to enjoy.  A winning hit to bring the family together in one room!

Highly recommended and I hope they make a sequel with the same cast.  4 1/2 stars.
