Max Magician and the Legend of the Rings can be summed up as Harry Potter meets Lord of the Rings with the "bad guy" being a carbon copy look-a-like as the "bad guy" from Legend with Tom Cruise.
The plot is of a young man who enjoys magic and meets up with a man who introduces him to a kingdom in trouble who he must help.
The story should have been he reads spells from the book to work the magic and when it is lost to him he should have been able to work the magic because "the magic comes from his heart not some book" angle.
There was a magic boy, elves, and a bad guy. The ending is quite quick like they ran out of money making the movie and had to wrap up the story.
You know a movie isn't big budget when the mom in the real world doubles as the queen in the other realm.
This is a movie for ages 10 and will keep them busy while you do something else. Now down to $5 why not?
